If anything, I think it should be viewed as a good thing considering the majority of pitchers are right-handed. Worst-case scenario is that you have to find some right-handed platoon bats in free agency or something.Last edited by Erick; 06-07-2013, 01:11 AM.

It's also worth noting that some of these lefty bats will probably be better than terrible against left-handed pitching. Morrison, for example, has a career .761 .OPS against lefties (not great or anything, but it's playable). Moran was drafted primarily for his approach so hopefully he's similar in that sense.

You have to hope players like Barnes or Realmuto break through then I suppose.
I would go Stanton/Morrison/Ozuna though personally. Would make it a touch bit more palatable.Amy Adams, AKA Cinnamon MuffLogan Morrison: "If baseball didn't exist, I would probably be ... like a curler. Or a hairstylist."

Also, Brantly wouldn't play against lefties. The lefty would face a right-handed hitting catcher who will one day be better than Jeff Mathis, hopefully.
And there are right-handed hitting outfielders in the system. Ruggiano, for example if he stays, can play/hit well against lefties. Marisnick is a right-handed hitter who has the upside to be a significant part of the future as well with some consistency in his bat.
I think it's looking like a nice lineup in the near future if the majority of these guys pan out.Last edited by Erick; 06-07-2013, 02:44 AM.

I've said that same thing before, considering Yelich's prior history at 1B, and moving Stanton to 1B also makes sense to mitigate the chance of injury in the future.
Despite all that, I'm not sold on Marisnick at any point, and I'm not sure Yelich has enough power to be above a league average first baseman.
I think our best long term lineup consists of
C: Brantly/Barnes
1B: Morrison
2B: Dietrich
SS: Who cares (although we know it'll be Hechavarria)
3B: Moran
LF: Ozuna
CF: Yelich
RF: Stanton
Honestly, that's a lineup I could get behind. It'll be a while, but we can contend in 2015 while not being the worst team in baseball in 2014.
