I get it: College players generally pan out at a higher rate than high-schoolers. And high-schoolers tend to have more upside, especially in the later rounds.

The dogmatic opposition to one or the other by some here is ridiculous, though.

I am opposed to taking a far off high school player ONLY in the first 10-15 picks and ONLY when you don't have much talent at the major league level.

Not true. You flip out about high schoolers every single year. I prefer prep players, pretty well known, but I only flip out about college players when they take like five 25 year old 5th year seniors in a row.
