You may notice that we've redesigned the minor league portion of the forums. We've made some changes to allow for better coverage of minor leaguers.
The old "Prospect Database" forum has been retired. Most prospects in the organization now have a thread, and those that do not currently have one will have one created in the next few days. These threads are for posting any information relating to that player. Guy throws a one hitter? Post it. Dude gets suspended for PEDs? Post it. Players are sorted by their affiliation. When a player moves up in the minors, his thread will be moved accordingly.
Our draft threads have also been folded into this new forum. Once a draftee is signed and assigned to an affiliate, his draft thread redirects to his new player thread, where all of the draft-day information on him is available. Over the next few years/draft classes, we hope that this will build a database on each player that allows us to find information about the player throughout his development in the system (and hopefully find information about stupid predictions people made on draft day).
When a player is traded or released by the organization, his thread will be "soft deleted." That means that it won't be visible anymore, but a copy of the thread will still remain on the server so that if he ever does return, we can undelete the thread and restore all the information we had previously compiled.
How does this impact you? Well, if you don't like prospects or the minor leagues, it doesn't. If you do, you can help us grow in a number of ways! First, make sure to post information about players in their respective threads. Second, if you see that a player doesn't have a thread, make one! Finally, let us know if a player has moved levels or been released. You can do that simply by posting in their thread. We'll take care of the rest.
