I feel like you can take Ramp's statement about players and replace 'players' with 'Marlins beat writers' and still be more or less accurate. That they aren't reporting it (yet) is pretty inconsequential. They are the worst.

But it's not Ramp that said it. He linked us to an article by some dude on a blog site (and, if I read the bios correctly, the dude lives in Iowa). That's why I wonder who he knows to know before anyone else that Hand is for sure getting called up.

Swift didn't say Ramp said it. It was talking about Ramp's statement that players don't know anything and Swift said you can replace players with beat writers for the Marlins and the statement would still be correct.

Hey guys,

I'm the one who posted the article. I apologize for stating too early that Hand had been called up, I noticed that Graham Taylor of the Jacksonville Suns tweeted (http://twitter.com/#!/GrahamTaylor34...59220448911360) that Hand would come up and be pitching. I assumed he knew the fact that he would make the start on Thursday.

I was luckily right, as the Marlins dropped Jose Ceda to put Hand in the rotation to make the start, but the article was posted earlier than the actual announcement from the Marlins front office. So basically, I was right and wrong. Wrong on the fact that no official announcement was made, but right since, you know, it ended up being right in the end.


Anyway, I don't know any players or anything, and I live in Indiana, actually :D. I used to live in Cape Coral, Florida; moved here for a purpose. I run The Fightin' Fish with my friend, Alex; he is a childhood friend who grew up in the same town. We moved around the same time, I took into the rural part of Indiana, and Alex moved to Phoenix, Arizona.
