Soooooo Jacksonville is in town and I caught up with a player I know and got some inside stuff.
Hand is likely not going to get called up as of right now. He is scheduled to pitch on Thursday. However, he could just throw two innings or so as his usual bullpen day and then go up to pitch Saturday. (That is just my speculation.)
A more "likely" choice to go up could be Omar Poveda. He, as of right now, has not been listed in the Suns rotation for this stand against the Mudcats (that runs through Saturday.) As of now they have O'Gara and Allison for Tuesday (today), Alvarez for Wednesday, Hand for Thursday, Taylor for Friday and TBA for Saturday.
Also, not being able to see Skipworth all year I'm not able to give my opinion on how he's looked, but the player I talked to said brutal. Basically he's in way over his head and his defense has been really brutal. He described it as using a paddle behind the plate instead of a glove. He said every two weeks or so he'll have a game that shows why he was a first round pick, but other than that, brutal.
So there ya go. Likely tomorrow I will (hopefully) find out the Marlins starter for Saturday but I won't make any promises. I know this isn't much, but better than what I've had lately, which as been nothing.
