  • 4/7/2011-4/10/2011: Minor League Game Thread

I figured we might as well do a catchall thread for any conversation with the week's minor league games. If this is usable, I'll start a new thread each Monday.
    --------------------
Remember Dallas Trahern? How about this one; Kyle Winters?!

Both pitching tonight. Which is cool. Trahern is in Jax while Winters is going to have start working his way back from Gboro. Both doing reasonably well.

We still have Trahern? I totally forgot about him. So we have two pieces left from the Miggy trade; Hopper and Trahern.

Wow, I didn't know about Dallas. I just assume he retired. Guess not.

        Quick notes from last night:

        Gboro:
Realmuto: 1 for 3, 3B, BB - Also threw out the only steal attempt all night. Interested to hear some reports about his defense.
        Yelich (played LF): 1 for 4, 2B
        Galloway: 1 for 2, 2 BB, 1 SO, 2 for 2 SB
        Ozuna: 0 for 4, 2 SO
        Fisher: 1 for 3, HBP

        This lineup could be awesome.

Winters was pretty dominant for the first 5 innings (5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 SO, ton of grounders). Got touched a bit in the 6th.

        Final line: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 SO, 9-1 GB/FB

        Jupiter:
Jensen: 2 for 3, HR (1) - it would be awesome to see him blow-up. Big time power. Once considered a Day One draft prospect and he's only 22. Nothing else happened worth noting from the Jupiter bats.

        Rasmussen:
        6.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 5 BB, 1 SO, 8-2 GB/FB

        Weird outing.

        Jax:
        Skipworth: 0 for 4, 2 SO, 1 for 2 in CS attempts

        Really uninteresting lineup.

Trahern: If you don't count his first inning, he went 5 innings, gave up 0 Runs on 2 Hits with 1 BB and 2 SO. IF you do count his first, it looked like this:

        6.0 IP, 3 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 2 SO, 12-3 GB/FB

        NOLA:
        Ozzie Martinez: 2 for 4, 2B, 1 SO

        Villanueva: 5.0 IP, 10 H (1 HR), 4 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
        Hopper: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K

Oh yeah. Doesn't matter, but every team lost.

Poveda was pretty dominant through 4, which is awesome to see.

Jensen is tearing it up so far.

Olmos started the game in Jupiter. Very breezy 2 innings and then didn't make it out of the third.

                    2.2 IP, 5 H (1 HR), 5 ER, 5 BB, 2 SO

Yelich and Galloway were both 0 for 4. Galloway struck out once.

Jensen has been absolutely insane this week. Seriously. I don't know what's going on.

                      He headed into tonight's game going 8 for 15, 2 HR, 1 2B, 1 BB, 3 SO. He's gone 3 for 4 tonight with 2 doubles.
