Panthers coach Jeff Harlow said Weber received a package of schooling, incentives and a signing bonus worth $82,000, a generous offer for a late-round pick.

Weber, out of Montclair High School, served as a designated hitter and relief pitcher for the Foothill Conference Panthers. He hit .307 with six doubles, a triple, three home runs and 26 RBIs. He was 3-0 with a 5.59 ERA in 10 appearances. The Marlins drafted him as a pitcher.
