Started 10 games on the mound and finished the season with a 7-3 record with a 5.78 ERA...threw three compete games and struck out 59 batters in 71-2/3 innings...struck out 12 batters in a complete-game victory at North Park...struck out eight batters in six innings pitched in a win over Ripon...also made five plate appearances on the season.

Former Regis Jesuit pitcher Steve Dennison went in the 34th round to the Florida Marlins with the 1,037th overall pick. The 6-foot-7, 215-pound left-hander did more damage with his bat and glove as a first baseman at Regis Jesuit, but blossomed at Wheaton (Ill.) College, where he went 7-3 overall with three complete games last season as a junior.
