Florida State WR Taiwan Easterling drafted by Florida Marlins but turns down MLB offers, according to his Twitter feed

It seems that Florida State receiver Taiwan Easterling, who has spent the past several months on the Seminoles’ baseball team, will indeed be returning to the football team. Easterling on Tuesday wrote through his Twitter account that he turned down potential offers from Major League Baseball teams interested in drafting him.

That was before the Florida Marlins drafted Easterling today in the 31st round (947th pick overall).

That said, Easterling wrote that he turned down offers from teams interested in drafting him in the fourth round and in the 15th round. That’s good news, obviously, for a Seminoles’ offense that should be among the best in the nation next season. Easterling’s presence would give quarterback Christian Ponder one more receiving target.

so we've wasted two draft picks on him now?

We wasted 1 and half picks I would say. The 31st round is nothing great so worth a gamble and if he gets injured or something(acaademic/booted from team) before August 15,we can always offer him a contract OR do something like Riley Cooper did with Texas last year, sign him to a baseball deal and let him play football IF he doesn't wanna play baseball or gets hurt then he has to repay us the bonus
