When the Marlins acquired Jose Ceda for Kevin Gregg two off-seasons ago, Larry Beinfest and company envisioned the hard-throwing Dominican righty to be a key addition to the back end of the Florida Marlins already flame throwing bullpen. Their envisions could still happen, just not as soon as they though. Ceda has yet to throw a pitch for the Marlins organization after undergoing shoulder surgery last season and has been stuck in extended spring training to start off the 2010 campaign. Ceda's Marlins debut could possibly be tonight as he has been assigned to Greensboro Grasshoppers of the South Atlantic League from the Jacksonville Suns 7-day disabled list.
Expect Ceda to spend a little time in Greensboro before being moved to High-A Jupiter as he is on a slow recovery from shoulder surgery. It is unknown where Ceda will finish the year but he could make it back to Double-A Jacksonville before it's all said and done.
