When Cantu leaves next offseason, Murphy could be one of the (likely low salaried) guys who gets thrown into the pile to compete for 3B, kinda like when they had the Cantu/Castillo/McDallas competition for 3B a few years ago.

I believe he was resigned. (correct me if I am wrong here)
Is he suppose to be ready to play come spring training?
I would like to seem him get an extended look as a third base option until doming is ready if he is.

He was re-signed to a minor league deal Jay. However, from what I've read, he likely won't be ready for Spring Training and maybe not even the beginning of the season.

I loved Donnie Murphy 5 years ago.

There are plenty here who can confirm this.
