  • Stephen Strasburg

    5 IP, 4 R, 1 R, 8 K, 2 BB today

    1-0, 1.80 ERA

Also, equally as nasty was Drew Storen who should be up soon too.

And Chapman has an impressive first start as well.

Chapman allowed just one earned run on five hits, walked one and struck out nine in 4 2/3 innings. He threw 85 pitches, 55 for strikes, and left the game with Louisville leading, 2-1.

Four of the five hits he allowed did not leave the infield.

So who had the more impressive debut?

        His pitching line for the day goes 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K.

        For the season: 12 1/3 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 17 K. And his ERA is 0.73.
he can't be much longer for AA.

I assume the only reason he isn't in AAA is that they're waiting for it to warm up in Syracuse...?

That's the only thing I can think of...

                  kid dominated in AAA today.

6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K. His ground-out to fly-out ratio was 12-to-0. He threw 65 pitches, 45 for strikes. And to reiterate: the only ball to leave the infield was the weak grounder up the middle by Blanco in the fourth.
                  --------------------
Strasburg's K of Blanco to finish his outing went from 3-0 to fasty, fasty, slurvy...

Strasburg throws a slurve? That is a red flag for myself.
