  • 2010 Sim 22

Back to our regularly scheduled sim schedule, sorry for the disruption, folks.

    Discuss.
    --------------------
Alright - it's come to my attention that Andruw Jones has been released... again... without notice of salary cap implications. His last ABs were in the minors, so it's not as if he had to be waived again.

Now, I don't LIKE to do this sort of thing, but I was lenient the first time. As a result of salary cap manipulation (intended or otherwise) Edmonton will forfeit their 2nd round pick in the next draft.

I've never released Andruw Jones. I've waived him twice. Either the person doing the sim didn't put him back in my minors or OOTP is releasing him from my team. I would appreciate my 2nd round pick back.
This is a Dolphins town, though.

I think you are SOL, guy..

Also, if you waive and DFA someone... It's your responsibility to designate him, not the commish.

I can't fix it if he's been released before the sim is complete.

Edit: Same thing occured with Aaron Fultz. I waived him, no one claimed, then *poof* he's off my roster before I get the option to do anything with him.

First time to check my team in three sims and I'm back over .500! And I'll get Volstad back in a couple sims. Looking good.

You didn't just waive them then because that doesn't happen, I've had Ryan Zimmerman on waivers for the past... 3-4 sims? Check it yourself, he's still there. You can leave a player on waivers almost indefinitely. It happens if you DFA+Waive.

It's not the commish's responsibility to put players back on rosters after DFA's.

Ok, yes I did waive and DFA. I absolutely promise you that I did not release Jones or Fultz. As far as I know, he shoulda been on permanent waivers on my transaction screen. I have no clue how he cam off my roster. All I know is that I did not release him. So when I say that whoever did the sim did not put him back in my minors, I say it because I have no other explanation of how he could be off of my roster.

If you're going to take my pick, that's all fine and dandy, but I absolutely 100% stand by the fact that I am not the reason why he is not on my roster is not

In response to the first part: DFA will take a player off the rosters, waivers will not, if you waive and DFA, the DFA takes precedence and the player will be released.

Now, granted, this has me curious as to why Jones would be waived or DFA'd as, I recall you doing that already and he hadn't been called up. In any case, that point is immaterial now.

In response to point two: Noted.

Ok, if the waive/dfa takes him off the roster, I will own up to that. I wasn't aware that it would release him from my roster. I waived him more than once with the hope that A. Someone would claim him or B. He wouldn't get to play and OOTP might have him retire.
