Why is Matt White starting games? He is my spot starter yet his pitched two turns in the rotation like I have a 6-man rotation. All my pitchers are healthy, my order is set on strict order and it's set on 5-man rotation. He shouldn't be starting games.

If he's your spot starter, he will start games. He's currently in your pitching staff as a 20% spot starter which means that you are telling the sim to give him starts.

Or, if you would prefer, everyone's conspiring against you, whichever explanation works.

How do I change that? He never started making all these starts until Lester got hurt in May. Why is now different than April? He's a spot starter. I only want him to start when one guy actually in my rotation is hurt. I don't want him as part of a 6-man rotation.

So don't set him as a spot starter. If a player is hurt, you'll know before his next start (which is why we only do 5 day sims).

Every position in the bullpen does not need to be designated, there is no need to have a spot starter if you do not want one.
