I still have hope that they give him an extension. Its fairly absurd they havent done it yet however.

I wouldn't go that far. I think it's fair to give them 2 1/2 years of performance to see if those whiffs were going to catch up to him and still have a club controlled year as leverage. Especially given his age where they could easily offer 6-8 years and Stanton is still a free agent in his prime. It ain't so bad to wait until now.

However, it's completely absurd and if they don't do it this offseason. It's more absurd to not sign Stanton than Trout right now based on their service time.

Frisaro got a question about extending Stanton last night on Twitter and said that he was not a priority yet, naming manager, third base and bullpen more of a concern.

Absolutely 100% wrong. Getting Stanton to sign a 7/$85-90 deal is #1-8 priorities. Longterm 3B is 9, Manager is 10.
