Id be in favor of Coghlan finding his stroke again (way too early for that though).

Probably a higher chance of a stroke finding Coghlan

He's got a 7 game hitting streak in which he's 12/28 with 4 multi-hit games.
He's also 5/13 off lefties down there. Now he just needs to continue this for, oh, about 2 more months and maybe we can give him a look again. -------------------- Skipworth went 0/4 tonight and is hitting .132/.250/.211 this month. .188/.271/.357 overall with 43k. He's just the best. His strikeout rate is somehow higher (38.3%) than last year (36.1%). -------------------- I'd still love to know why they had him skip Jupiter. Brent Keys was featured on the BA Hot Sheet today, under the "Helium Watch" section.

Nah. Myth that only relates to super prospects.
Keys is actually below the 25th percentile of age in the SALLY (going by last year's numbers, but it should roughly be the same). He's the same age as a JUCO guy in his first full season. |

I've liked Keys since his first year (Hard for me not to like a guy with more BB then K) and was very disappointed last year when he sucked so very happy he's doing well now. Obviously too early now to project much and he's playing way over his head at the moment, but I think he's a C+ OF prospect (aka bench bat, next pete/cousins) if he has a good year the entire way through. |

Because the Florida State League is extremely horrible for hitters (sans Yelich) and they thought he might fair better in the Southern League (which plays more evenly.) Their plan didn't work out.

He finished 2007 in Jupiter, 34g 148pa .200/.277/.331, and then spent all of 08 in AA.

It may have been because he already couldn't hit and had already repeated Low-A so they didn't want to hurt his confidence anymore by sending somewhere where he was almost guaranteed to fail?

I can see why they'd skip him there though. His one redeeming offensive quality is his"power" and Jupiter really represses that. His line would have been hilarious.
