I'm not sure where to find this, but I'd bet Sean Rodriguez is a lot better at hitting fastballs than he is at hitting offspeed pitches. He's the type of guy who wouldn't draw a walk if the pitcher told him he was going to throw four balls.

Pretty amazing we were beaten by scrubs tonight. Actually, that's not amazing, at all. Amazing would be a win.
Why do pitchers not throw offspeed pitches every time then to everyone?
Because as madman said, most guys probably hit fastballs better.

If I'm reading this correctly, fangraphs says a fastball is his worst pitch.

I think I'm reading it wrong though.

        Why throw a fastball then?

Also, not every hitter has a career 5.1 BB%/28.8 K% against right-handed pitching.

He's a dumb hitter. Any breaking pitch out of the zone has him chasing.

        Bitch.

          "This.

If the Marlins had won tonight I would have been ALL for no game thread until they lost but yeah, it's time to bring the game thread back.

I liked the idea but it wasn't what we needed to break the wave of suck."

I will do one, provided Festa is for the return of the game thread, and no one has already begun to create one.

Sean Rodriguez has no patience at the plate. He's not like every other hitter.

To get rid of some of the frustration that should have taken place in the game thread

It's actually pretty amazing. I wouldn't even call this stretch bad; it's historic.

They were talking about how something like this has only happened once in the last 40 years. In terms of a team was doing well at 11 games over .500 to this all of a sudden.

Marlins are 25-for-135 since June 3 with RISP.

                              That's awesome.

I recall something else that I think Jayson Stark pointed out. The Marlins lost 19 times in their first 50 games; no other team had ever started out like that and then lost 19 times in their next 22 games (or whatever we were to that point). It's pretty amazing.

That's essentially their slump in a nut shell.
