Last week in Minor League Baseball transactions:

-The Cubs signed former Marlin P Alex Sanabia out of the Mexican League to a minor-league deal.
-P Dustin Richardson was released by the Dodgers. He pitched in 23 games for AAA New Orleans in 2011.

-As mentioned elsewhere, the Marlins signed LHP Joe Beimel to a minor-league deal. He's expected to report to extended spring training before he's ready for New Orleans.
-The Marlins released P Erick Lara. He was signed out of the Dominican and pitched in the organization from 2012-2015. He never rose higher than GCL.

        Ra-Ra-Sanabia.

I thought I read the Marlins backed out of that Beimel deal.

That's true, according to Clark Spencer. Weird that Baseball America would have it as a transaction if it was never finalized.

Looks like they did the old Marlins pull the contract trick since Breslow decided to stay in the system

Claimed Cody Hall from Arizona. Decent Minor League # and is 6'4 235

Decent outing by Lilek. Seemed like a good pick last year and he's got a chance to prove himself in a weak farm. 3.09 ERA in four starts. Not really much else noteworthy other than Mader having a poor outing.
