    was he more physically mature?

Generally speaking, players tend to hit for more power as they age, yes.

That is, of course, what makes Stanton so impressive.

I'll take either of this guys on my team without complaining about not getting one or the other. But Stanton is my homie so I'll stick with him.

I guess I am just skeptical because across 876 MiLB ab's Heyward has only 29 dingers. When you factor in the jump in talent of pitching and how young he is, I dont think 26+ is very plausible. Very arbitrary number btw.

I could have just said more than 25

Anyway after watching him in about 10 spring games (OMG sample size alert), I just think he's destined to put up big power numbers even if he hasn't in the past. Perhaps I'm buying into the hype too much

I can't get behind 25+ homers. Maybe 15, but if he goes over 20 this year AND keeps a low to mid 300 batting average I'll be shocked.

I don't think it's an argument of does he have raw power, but more of battled ball ability. The negative scout perspective is that he's a line drive hitter, and LD hitters normally don't hit for power. There's always caveats that it's possible, like Albert Pujols. But Pujols puts the ball on the ground about 10% than Heyward does. Heyward just does not hit many balls in the air at all.

                          1 down, 25 to go

Yes, I will be an asshole and update this whenever he goes yard. I expect the same from you when he doesn't hit a homerun for about 7 games in a row.

                            Who me?

I never said you would be wrong, just that I didnt think it was all that likely.
