MLB won't admit their umpires were wrong. That day will never come. Even if it does, it doesn't change shit. The Marlins are not getting that game back.

The throw also did not force the catcher into the runner's pathway.
            How can they say that?

It taking 6 minutes or whatever it was makes it apparent to me it wasn't so clear that he blocked the plate.

Additionally - to me it'd be one thing if it were a closer play where he more evidently interfered with the runner's path to the plate, but the throw beat him by about 3 strides to where Mathis was waiting for him....obviously he's going to be blocking the plate at that point. I don't think they understand their own rule enough to make a correct call on it.

Still pissed about this call. Of course the MLB won't admit the rule/call was wrong. This wouldn't of happen to the Dodgers, Red Sox or Yankees .

I guarantee you bad calls have happened to every one of those teams. Don't do that.

Rich Waltz said a similar play happened in Toronto two days ago where it went to review and it was upheld as out. It was the same umpiring crew that worked the game yesterday. When I get home from work I'm going to see if they have video of that play as well.

That's almost the same play. I'd say that's blocking the play more than Mathis last night. If they're gonna call it the way they did last night, they have to at least be consistent about it each time it happens. They can't uphold the call one week and then overturn the call the next week.

It should be a non-reviewable play. Thats it.
