Man, just looking at the AL wild card standings, we would have had a legit chance if we were in the AL. granted, we stink too, but man that 2nd wild card race in the AL was a bunch of shit teams. Yankees and twins are the only 2 teams in the entire race with positive run differentials.

Per Marlins, Wei-Yin Chen received a PRP injection yesterday and is no-throw rest of season.
IS this guy serious? How many times does he have to be shut down before he just gets the surgery?

Didn't we coin the phrase "that's so Marlins" or something like that a few years ago?

For all the crap we give the Marlins training staff u have to admit they were pretty good at knowing who might be hurt in the future

Even tho Kolek has sucked. Carlos Rodon is out 8 months from Shoulder Surgery(they thought he would have arm injuries) and Carter Capps now has outlet syndrome(they thought he was gonna have more arm issues)

                  Plus Heaney,Alvarez,Desco

Capps was an obvious injury risk, but lots of pitchers get injured, so I don't think it's necessarily a skill of the Marlins (former?) training staff.

thats not a skill. they also drafted kolek, garrett, Jose, traded for Alvarez in the first place, signed Chen, etc. I just think its that pitchers get hurt very often.

A broken clock is right twice a day too....as others have pointed out, for all the guys we've "hit" on (trading before injury), we've missed on just as many.

I agree with fish16 in saying that basically pitchers get hurt, and it's hard to predict it....though it seems like TJ surgery is more and more becoming the norm.

Glad we traded guys to get them from the Pirates.

Interesting note by Frisaro that by firing these guys before the ownership change, Loria is responsible for their contracts. If that is indeed the case, that certainly can explain why Samson had to fire them instead of Jeter.

Yeah seriously. We traded a 25 year old back of the rotation starter for no reason now. Great.
