Justin Bour 0-3 against the lefty. now 3-17 for the year with 1 extra base hit and 8 k's against lefties for the year. Spending 6 million on a reliever like Tazawa rather than attempting to get a platoon partner for him is so marlins.

We have a Platoon in Realmuto. Use ellis and get Telis up too.

Ive said numerous times im completely in favor of that. Either that or Telis his platoon. Either way, same thing. No one in their right mind would think it is a good idea to start Bour v lefties.

Against righties he absolutely should. Against lefties him starting is absurd. We could very easily make our 1b situation a net .780+ OPS position. But by forcing him to start every day even against lefties will turn the position into at best a replacement level.

To add to that bour comment, our front office has shown an absolute inability to recognize market inefficiencies. At this point, platoons should not even be considered a market inefficiency, but this team just doesnt get platoons and the relative value in spending on certain positions. Im cool with adding a reliever for 6 million or whatever they spent on each of Ziegler and Tazawa, but there was no need to spend on both of them considering the bullpen is the only spot in the entire organization we have affordable depth, quality relievers are the easiest thing in the sport to find, and we have several every day position players that are black holes in the lineup (Hech every day and Bours v. lefties). It is just unacceptable in this day and age in baseball to spend money on relievers and not even try to find a platoon for a guy who obviously would be best suited for a platoon.

Funny thing is Hech is the least of our concerns right now.

Hech has been one of the biggest concerns for this team for about 5 years.

Weird being up 10-5. I thought we were down 5-2 every game because the last week our offense has struggled.

I lol'd when they showed Vinny Castilla's Trop record 478 foot home run that went nowhere near as far as Ozuna's 468 foot homer.

Ziegler and his 1.35 ERA is trash apparently.

Also, Phelps was bordering on brilliant for us last year. He'll be fine.

Hes also a .626 career OPS and .291 OBP over 4.5 full years of games and he does not have a single offensive tool like something like speed that might be able to offset just how bad he is offensively.

Yelich also has a below .700 OPS. Its been a fucking month. Look up regression to the mean. Hech will have a below .700 OPS and probably below .675 OPS by the end of the year. And despite his .288 average he still only has a .667 OPS for the year. You can make an argument that maybe his glove outweighs his bat and that it is ok for an AL and even NL team, but dont make an argument to me about Hech's bat at this point in his career, he is a black hole as a bat. He's at the point where he is at Yunieski Betancourt's level offensively to the point where seattle fans were wondering why they were consistently fielding this absolute black hole in their lineup every day. Hech is fucking terrible offensively and there is 0 potential in the bat as opposed to 2013 when his struggles could be put up with due to the argument of "potential." I love Hech's glove, but no glove for 5-6 or however many plays a SS gets per game can overcome just how horrific he is offensively. Because he is below replacement level offensively.

Wittgren allowed a run? DFA his ass!!!
