Best part will be when we add Tyler Moore or sign Frenchy to a minor league deal that pays him 2 million if he makes the team because we need a bat

Carter was perfect fit who went cheap,o well onto the next options on the market-CJ,Frenchy,Ryan Raburn,Billy Butler

Firsaro has a tweet that we will win 77. Braves and Phils who are tanking and arent even playing this year are projected at 76 and 74

PECOTA has us at 77-85, with well below average fielding

        • 77 wins is generous. Unless a few people tear it up we are gonna be hot garbage. Maybe Stanton will make it the whole year though?

          • PECOTA is interesting but it's not the end all he all

            • I see us as a solid team, around .500, if everyone stays healthy. Unfortunately, no one ever stays healthy and we continually go into every season an injury at any position away from a lost season, which will more than likely happen again due to a continual ignoring of signing depth in the offseason. I also see us trying to make up for an injury by giving up an asset for a player that stinks at the deadline in a move that makes it seem like the front office is "going for it" when in reality it is just a horrific misuse of resources and somethng that should have been done now rather than in July.

              • How much of a leash does Mattingly have? We know how Loria gets when he's "going for it." (While ignoring glaring and obvious holes to save a few million dollars).

                • Gonna hit over a decade of not breaking .500

                  • Chris Carter had an OPS+ of 114 last year, Justin Bour is terrible vs LHP and we let the Yankees sign him for $3.5 million.

I feel like he's a Marlin if we offered him $4.25

Probably a long one. Jeff still has a hardon for Mattingly as seen by AJ Ellis and trying to get Jensen because he wanted them both

He even listens to what Mattingly has to say, which he didnt do alot bfore

Not sure about that. It had more to do with him getting alot more AB's in the AL then the NL. Remember AL=DH!!! In the AL long as u can crush the ball u can get AB's

Now if we gave him 6 million like Plouffe got and told him he would get all the AB's against lefties and even some righties-Maybe but most of these guys would rather play everyday which they can do in the AL instead of PH and platoon like in the NL. Trumbo,EE,Joey Bats,Napoli,Carter

                            • Barry Jackson is reporting that each of Mike Napoli, Mark Reynolds, and Chris Carter all had interest in coming here....but Hill is convinced Bour can play every day and are taking a "calculated risk" by having a 4 man bench. Perhaps my favorite part....."if" there's an injury, we'll turn back to resign Chris Johnson or Jeff Francouer
