Guillory wasn't really promoted. Since the FSL and GCL are in same complex, when they need an extra body or 2 for DH they usually grab them from GCL instead of flying them in

They do this every year. Guy usually looks pretty solid however instead of keeping him in High A next year they will probably put him in Gboro. WHY?? No one knows since its a good way to "fast track" guys

Just to show u how messed up our minor league assignments are

Michael Mader(who was traded to Braves) got the start for AA against Jax tonight. Of course he shut them down

Now worries tho because Luis Castillo and Matt Ramsey(AA/AAA arms who are too old to be pitching in Jupiter but for some reason are still there) look great against lesser competition. Would be nice to promote them but not much room since we have to have guys pitch who won't even be in the system next year(Adkins,Ballew,Mazza)

Really good to have castillo back in the system. Him and Peters are some of the last pitchers left worth seriously following.

                Marlins-related minors transactions last week:

-Brady Shoemaker, let go by AAA earlier in the year and was then signed by the White Sox, was released by that organization.

-C James Lovett was signed as a NDFA from North Carolina Wesleyan. As a senior, he hit .355 with 10 homers and 39 RBIs this past year. He's playing in the GCL.
-SS Pedro Ciriaco was released by AAA New Orleans. He was acquired from Texas for P Eric Jokisch on July 8. Ciriaco hit .221 in 23 games for AAA.

not sure why we didnt pitch peters the entire half of year after he was drafted... he could possibly be helping us this year.

I believe we drafted him coming off Tommy John surgery.

Here's a good article about Peters from Jacksonville:

Had TJ right before the draft-3rd Rd talent who fell to either Rd 9 or 10 because of it. Sadberry/Holmes taken in the same draft

We did the same with Hovis who is a RP but they are trying at SP(Not good results)

Oh ok makes sense. Is the plan to not give Garrett any starts or games this whole year? What is the rationale behind that?

Plan is NOT to throw this year except to the guys on the back fields. Rationale is who the f knows? He is already 19 and according to the FO is a advanced fast moving arm

They should do what they did with Peters more often however they don't. Draft a guy who is coming off TJ in later rounds and just let him recover.

We don't push are pitchers anyway so its a good way to get talent for cheap
