That was one of the biggest innings of the season.

Please, for all that is good and holy Ramos, do not blow this in the 9th.

Rodney is notorious for this shit. On teams that dont matter lights out. When games count he is hott garbage. Pretty sure Detroit was his last disaster.

                      Ellington

Hech hitting .324/.385/.394 since the All-Star Break. BABIP normalization is fun.

That's right, Ellington came in. I remember that inning as the death by Rodney inning. Thanks for the correction.

It's time for Mattingly to start putting more trust in Wittgren, Bearclaw, and Ellington in late inning situations. I'm not saying remove Rodney from the 8th inning role just yet, but the leash has got to be shorter.

I'd be willing to go as far as to be willing to flat out cut him and only reason I know you can't is because of what you gave up to get him.

But as far as I'm concerned, you need to use him in non high-leverage situations because he needs to get out of this funk he's in and I don't want him working through situations in one-run spots in important games. Bearclaw has been flat out dominant all season and I think he should be the 8th inning guy as long as Phelps keeps starting.

Do you kill any chance of him being any type of contributor over the next two months, though? I think you give him 1 or 2 more outings in the 8th, but if he doesn't look like he has it in the first 2 batters, get him out of there.
