Good to see that from Nicolino. He still should be a factor in future plans.

the top 5 hitters yesterday for Jupiter by age- 25, 25, 23,24, 26.

I understand they like to save money but you'd think by now they'd realize that if they put the resources into their system they would save money in other areas and possibly make more money simply by having better players in the minors and eventually the majors. I feel like every cent they save by not putting resources into the system is offset by the fact that they have to overpay veterans and do other things that make the major league team worse as a result of having a poor farm system, making interest in the big league club less a lot of times therefore leading to less revenue for the team.

              - - - - - - - - - -

              greensboro yesterday- 23, 19, 21, 22, 20, 21, 21, 23, 23

That is low A ball. We're gonna be fucked in a few years when some of these positions open up and all of our minor league system is full of nothingness.

All about installing a winning mentality!!! Don't u listen to the FO reasoning. They want guys to feel how it is to win(Drafting/Signing TALENT would also help)

21/22 isn't bad for Low A Ball actually but if u really want a laugh u should look at the lower levels where we have 23 yr olds. U should be 23 in AA/Hi A Ball if u are a prospect

Its more about them not promoting guys than anything else, instead of promoting a 23 yr old Ben Holmes they would rather sign a 26 yr old career minor leaguer OR promoting a 21 yr old from Rookie Ball they sign a 26 yr old for Low A

not sure why we held him to so few pitches. The way we handle pitchers and pitch counts is really fucking weird.

I don't know what to do with urena anymore. He's proven in the last year plus he's better than AAA but he's struggled in the majors as both a starter and a reliever.

He just has to keep succeeding in AAA to get another shot, but definitely a tough spot to be for him.

A minor-league signing and two releases last week:

-Signed was P Trey Lambert, released by the Nationals organization on July 28. He pitched predominantly in Single-A for the Nats, compiling a 1.89 ERA in 33 innings. He's now on Greensboro's roster.

-P Jeremy Guthrie was let go from AAA New Orleans. He started six games and had an 8.44 ERA in that time.
-C Carlos Corporan was also released from AAA. He hit .195 in 37 games.

Peters threw 6.2 scoreless, 5 K 3 BB. Good start. Him and castillo give us some hope for some future SP talent in our system. Esch with a great first start in AAA too. We desperately need some hitting talent to start to show itself.
