This Destin Hood that we signed this offseason might be worth following a bit. Hit a real low point in 2012/2013 before bouncing back and putting up solid seasons in AAA in 2014 and 2015.

New Orleans is a hitters paradise, and Hood is already 26 so hardly an actual 'prospect' anymore, but with a good season he could definitely be a September addition.

I really like Austin Brice. It has been incredibly frustrating to follow him over the year's because he's got the best pure stuff out of any pitcher in our system by far but he's struggled to ever find any kind of consistency. Hopefully this is the year he finally breaks out. It's easy to forget he's just 23 given he's been in the system for over six years now. A good season and he becomes the team's best prospect going into 2017.

I'm also maintaining my free Ben Holmes campaign, but I know nobody else truly cares. I actually think he could have a future with the team, but at 24 and after putting up good #'s in Jupiter it sucks to see him wasting away in GBoro.

New Orleans is pretty neutral actually. Home splits are fair assessments. Road splits are grain of salt

I was looking at Hood's numbers a couple of days ago and agree, it's an intriguing pickup.

Yeah, it's like the "pitcher's park" of the PCL

Holmes went from Starting in Jupiter and putting up good # to back in Relief in GBoro. To make matters worse for him, they needed a SP and instead of bringing him up they brought Dillon Peters over from ExST. So not only is he NOT starting anymore,Dillon Peters is past him

Should have remained Ben Wetzler,he could have got a nicer bonus/prolly already be in AAA and not have to do with the idiots here. Phillies might suck but least know what they are doing.

Scott McGough was claimed off waivers by the Orioles and sent to AAA Norfolk.

We got Jokisch from the Cubs instead. More of our type than Scooter

Jokisch cruised through their system, success at every level, and looked poised to become a genuine major leaguer after a strong 2014 in Iowa (158.1ip 155ha 31bb 143k 3.58era) plus a decent MLB debut (14.1ip 18ha 3er 4bb 10k).

Injury plagued 2015 (blisters and an oblique injury) which saw his K rate fall off the table (8.1/9 in AAA in 14, 5.2/9 in 15).

Feel like there's a chance he could be something. Not unlike last time we got a player coming off an injury plagued season, for free, from the Cubs.
