Exactly what Boras wanted for him. Was reported we were offering 3/45 but looks like when we missed on Sierra we took that cash and added it onto the Chen Deal

Hearing still have offers out to Fister,Lee,Masterson. Fister is interested but wants 2 yrs while we are offering 1 with option for 2nd

Source: Chen deal with #Marlins will be five years, $80M. Does not include no-trade clause. Pending physical.

Looks like the Dodgers can get him in 2 years

Nevermind the Dodgers thing. According to Buster Olney

Also, Chen has opt-out after second year, per @Buster_ESPN.

I have no issues with 5/$80, or the opt out

But still need another SP, at least a # 4

And a 1B/3B who can hit lefties.

                  And not trade Ozuna

                  And buyout Fernandez for 5+

And not give Gordon something outrageous

So looks like the deal is 5/80 with a 6th year option/Player opt out after Year 2 and does NOT include No trade clause

Prolly some backloaded deal that will give Chen 13-15 million in the First 2 years like we wanted

Given our payroll restrictions was the #1 guy I wanted this offseason. I think he's perfect for our rotation and for our ballpark.

We need to add a backend guy and not trade anyone major, and I'm shockingly happy with the offseason.

Chen will receive just $6MM this year and $14MM for 2017 then can opt out
