  • Rumor: Don Mattingly As Next Manager?

The Marlins have decided to make a change at manager after the year and plan to ask interim skipper Dan Jennings to move back to the front office, sources confirm.

The Marlins, who have had a disastrous injury-plagued season, also are readying for what is expected to be an "exhaustive" search for an experienced manager to take over next year, but one name that keeps popping up in internal talks is Dodgers manager Don Mattingly, whose job could become tenuous depending on how his $300-million team finishes out the year.

He should do good with the payroll,I think LAD is paying like 90 million to guys NOT even on the roster.

However it could be funny watching him take instructions from Jeff. Will the camera pan over when Jeff calls him over to his seat in the 4th Inning to tell him who he wants to warm up?

At least we know they are looking for a hard ass who will break the young guys!! It will end up being Dusty Baker. Hard ass manager who is happy to get paid and listen to Jeff

do not want, but then again with Loria at the helm the manager is never going to matter

          He's already been fired.

At this point it really doesn't matter who the manager is. Experienced, new, black, white, Hispanic, calm demeanor, hot headed, overuse arms, overuse double switches, it always ends exactly the same. The problem hasn't been with the managers. If we get Mattingly fine. If we get that Mets guy who curses and yells a lot fine. If we bring in Tommy Hutton whatever. They'll all be gone by the early 2018 for one reason or another.

I want Mattingly if only because he's probably the most likely candidate to be left alone by Loria.

He still won't, but if there's anyone.

At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter who our manager is though.

It does though. Having or not having a double-switch thread could be the key for getting more people to post here.

                    Justifiably Insane, though.

All of those managers have one thing common- They piss off Loria but not listening to what he wants!!

What is needed is an owner who writes checks and watches the game from his box. Instead we got a guy who wants to be the GM and sit 10 feet from the dugout to give "tips"

We give tjfla a lot of shit on this board but this is the bottom line when it comes to why this organization is such a chronic disaster.

Even bobbob has given up defending this ownership.

One year later and I'm still the new guy around here.
