I can't believe this isn't an easily trackable stat.

Like, I'm positive he's leading all managers by a far margin but I want to know how much and can't find those stats.

It's probably not trackable because people figured no manager would do such a thing.

Is this a big deal? Isn't the concept of a double switch to prevent a team from burning through bullpens because of some generally unrelated issues like a pitcher's struggles and the next spots due up in a lineup?

The ones that look dumb are when the double switch takes out a guy in the 5-spot as it's removing, in theory one of your best bats and also likely either not allowing a full time through the lineup before the change and/or when the pitcher is not guaranteed to hit in the following half inning.

It's an inordinate amount and in almost every case there's little to no defensive upgrade and a huge offensive downgrade.

yeah, look how many of those take out a top 5 bat.

plus, our relievers have gotten fucking shelled in that second inning of work numerous times.

Not to mention in a lot of these cases, it actually puts the pitcher who comes into the game in a position where they have to be taken out earlier because they are higher up in the order.
