  • Marlins Place Capps on DL with Elbow Strain, Option Solano

They have purchased the contract of Bryan Ellington from Triple-A. No idea why he got the call over Wittgren. Solano has been optioned back to Triple-A and they are going with three catchers, recalling Tomas Telis from New Orleans.

Like the idea of testing out all the young pitchers and seeing if there are arms there for next year (or trade assets). Wittgren will get his chance too.

An MRI on Carter Capps' right elbow showed no major damage and he's expected to resume throwing in 3-4 days.
Capps was placed on the disabled list Monday with a strained pitching elbow, but the Marlins think he'll be ready to return when his 15 days are up. It wouldn't be a surprise if it ultimately takes a bit longer than that, but obviously this is good news.

                No big deal hopefully

Can't wait for Wittgren to become a 30 year old career minor leaguer posting sub 1 ERA's in AAA never getting that call up.

Kidding obviously, but it's getting a bit funny at this point.

I feel like every major Marlins pitcher surgery has started with positive reports.

Web MD said he's ok, so he's ok.
