Injuries aren't as "scary" to teams if the talent is there. Like Bobo said, Harvey, Wheeler. Add Jose Fernandez. Think teams will say "Oh he had Tommy John, I don't want him."

So payroll is actually slightly down if they field the "in house" team, but it's going to be up $15 million for papa loria's wallet.

They saved around $20 million bucks moving Morse, Latos, Haren, Cishek, and the comp pick. You can use your own judgement what payroll is going to be.

I mean Telis gets the majority of his AB's against righties, so I don't think that would the plan. He actually doesn't hit all that bad against lefties, but based on the huge disparity in AB's between righties and lefties, I'd have to say his future in a platoon behind the plate.
