I also do agree that I don't see the point in yet another long reliever. Free Wittgren!
I'm more annoyed about Wittgren not being called up over Flores or Conley at this point.

Rienzo should've started this game. Or anybody who's right-handed.

      Or maybe it doesn't matter.

Brad Hand should've been released years ago.

Hand has a 2.56 FIP with today's disaster. He's the worst pitcher ever guys.

That line between looking at numbers and watching games. You are on the wrong side of it

I have no problem with throwing out FIP, I just have a problem with people who constantly go to the same stat over and over and act like it's the be all end all. FIP is a good stat, but each stat is a tool, no stat is all encompassing, even if a stat like WAR tries to be, and possibly is more than any stat that they've come up with yet, but you have to look at them all to make a complete evaluation of a player, IMO. Fielding Independent Pitching, totally get it, great stat. Unfortunately pitching isn't fielding independent.

Statistically speaking, why not start Rienzo tonight? Both are mediocre, but Toronto kills LHP. Tough to blame Hand since he wasn't put in position to succeed. Not that I like him, but this is a terrible matchup for a guy like him.

With our rotation sucking so much, why not have some more bullpen games?

It's people judge him on a few awful appearances where he gave up a ton of runs in an inning. He was not good for a few innings but has been a solid arm for the year.

Idk about everyone else, but I judge him on how useless he's been in his career with the Marlins

He's had a good career if you only count his good innings.

Well you can say that for almost every relief pitcher then.

For a reliever making the minimum he's pretty valuable considering he could spot start, long relief or be a lefty specialist.

This team has won 3 series in a row.

It's like a fucking funeral in this game thread, guys.

This game was over before it started.

                                On to tomorrow's game.

Ha Flores just plugged Joey Bats. He was NOT happy.
