  • May 2015 MLB Discussion

Lets start off May with a hell of a throw by this AAA catcher:

Craig Counsell was named the Brewers manager. I thought about throwing his name out as a possible replacement for Redmond earlier this year.

Wouldn't have gotten hurt if he didn't hustle to make that play and crash into the wall.

Andrew McCutchen sucks now that he cut off his dreads. He lost all his ability.

not particularly surprising, especially with regards to Lee. He was really, really good.

helps that neither Lee nor Floyd stuck around for a particularly long decline phase during the non-steroids era, when offense was easier to come by. OPS+ paints a more flattering picture of Jeter, especially if you take out his final 162 games. 117 OPS+ for Jeter wihtout the final seasons, 119 for Floyd.

Lee was just a really, really good player.

I think it would be very surprising to most baseball fans (the Lee stuff).

great with the glove, too, unless our new stats say he wasn't.
