Great start for Heaney. One or two more good starts in New Orleans and I think he should get another opportunity.

I'm also starting to get on the Canha bandwagon.

Wallach gonna make Baseball America regret not putting him on the Marlins top 20 prospect list.

Among Marlins minor-league transactions last week, they released C Josh Adams and signed P Ethan Elias and OF Christian Capellan.

Adams had his high-water mark in 2012 with Grensboro, where he OPS'd .744 and hit 14 home runs. This year with Jupiter, he hit only .148 in 108 ABs, with one home run, 10 RBIs, and a .438 OPS. Adams was a 13th round pick in 2011.

This tidbit about Capellan comes from Baseball America: "The Marlins signed 16-year-old Dominican corner outfielder Christian Capellan for $500,000, projecting the International Prospect League standout to hit for above-average power."

Elias was signed from the Frontier League and is a former Cub farmhand. In 12 games this season in the Frontier League, he struck out 40 in 35 innings and posted a 4.62 ERA. He was a 22nd round pick of the Cubs in 2011.

Ha! Nicolino seems to have one of these great starts a few outings that make you go "wait, he can actually be a legit good starting pitcher" followed by those starts that remind you he likely isn't. I can't really make up my mind about whether I love or hate Nicolino as a prospect.
