Two Bahamian high school baseball players, now in their senior year at American Heritage School, are trying to decide if they should swing for the fences or slide into second base, as it relates to their immediate future.

By May 2014, Todd Isaacs Jr. and Anfernee Seymour will officially announce if they will enter the 2014 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft or continue on with their studies at a respectable university in the United States. As for now, MLB scouts and collegiate coaches are looking at both Bahamians, wanting them to join their programs. Their names appear on a number of popular baseball sites. One of the most popular, ScoutingBaseball.com, has the outfielders, Isaacs Jr. and Seymour, ranked at numbers 57 and 89 respectively on the Top 142 Prep Prospects for the 2014 MLB draft.

"It's feels really great and also feels like a dream come true," said Seymour, who posts a 3.8 Grade Point Average (GPA) at the school located in Delray Beach, Florida. "I have given thoughts of both (college or professional), but it really doesn't matter to me. I don't really stress myself about it, and try to think about it too much. I know I want to play baseball at the next level, so my mind is open to whatever. If a team decides to pick me and give me an opportunity to play professional ball, I will be thankful.

"As far as colleges, my three top choices right now are the University of Florida, Florida State University and the University of Miami.
My senior year is coming along really well. My biggest challenge this coming season is to try and perfect hitting from the left side. My strongest point in my game is quickness and speed. It is a really big asset to my game. It is used on both offense and defense."

looks like he was committed to State College of Florida:

Hill said a 2015 SCF signee, outfielder Anfernee Seymour, could be drafted because of his tremendous speed.

          MLBPipeline.com #28 prospect

          Scouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 20 | Run: 80 | Arm: 60 | Field: 45 | Overall: 40

The Marlins didn't have to go far to scout Seymour, a native of the Bahamas who played his high school ball just north of Miami in Delray Beach, Fla. He stands out most for his speed and was one of the fastest players in the 2014 Draft class.

Seymour's game is based on that top-of-the-scale speed. His short, quick swing enables him to make a lot of contact, if not power. He knows how to use his speed once he gets on and is always a threat to steal. Defensively, Seymour's speed allows him to cover a lot of ground in the outfield. But the Marlins have tried him at shortstop and think his hands and strong arm will play well at the position.

Seymour has impressive raw tools. Now the challenge is to polish them and develop his overall game in the professional ranks.
