Every time I see a news headline about Orlando Pride, I think they're talking about the local gay community and get so confused.

I'm sure AA baseball fans would say the same thing, but it is still AA baseball at the end of the day. Difference is AA baseball fans don't pretend they're in the big leagues and complain that AA baseball leagues should have a single table and play in the winter.

There were 30,000 people at the Orlando City match vs NYCFC.

My broad point is this (and not directed at nny).......

I think several of you would be surprised at the atmosphere and level of play at a MLS game. It was way more electric than any of the Marlins regular season games than I've attended over the years.

How many people involved in this discussion have attended a MLS match within the last 5 years?

My point was nothing about the game. I haven't been to a game yet and even still I can tell you it is a big thing here.

I was making fun of how silly and funny a name of Orlando Pride is. Seriously confused me for awhile

Yeah it took me a while to figure out that was their actual name too.

I can also confirm that I have been shocked at how huge a deal Orlando City is here.

So with the land being secured and MLS approving it, might be a good time for someone to start a MLSMiamiForums.com or something.

This forum looks really nice on my phone. I post here once in a while:

They need a parking garage right next to the stadium. Not parking lots a few blocks away IN OVERTOWN.

But seriously, is Overtown as bad as it used to be? I have no clue. I know Pork and Beans is still real rough.

Overtown is still pretty rough in the western sections. East Overtown near where the Miami Arena was is turning into a massive construction site.

Beckham is looking to raise $300M for stadium construction, front office, and player signings. He would even give up majority control. So Beckham to Miami could become equivalent to Will Ferrel at LAFC.

I'm not surprised by this. It would be hard for one person who wasn't a billionaire to do this.

    HUGH development

    http://www.espnfc.us/major-league-so...stment-reports

Basically, PSG owners with Becks as the face of the franchise.

I don't like the Qataris in the equation but Zlatan playing in Miami would be sick.

This article gives some good insight into how much of a hurdle Loria's trail of disaster is to MLS coming to Miami.

The latest rendering of the proposed soccer only stadium in Overtown is also shown.

This is the most promising (legitimate) article I've read following Beckham's meeting with MLS owners yesterday.

There are a lot of direct quotes from the MLS commissioner in this article.

We could have an official announcement within the next 8 weeks.
