ERA down to 1.73. His start today was cut short because of an hour and a half rain delay but it was another solid start. 3 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K.

        One positive about his callup

        Innings
        2007 - 66.2
        2008 - 96.2
        2009 - 104.1

        2010 so far - 84.1

If he kept starting in AA, he'd have broke 160 innings easily, which is probably to much of a jump as he has been on-off again hurt the last few years. Probably want to push him to the 130s this year, then move him to the 160s next year, 180s in 2012, etc.

Throwing around 40-50 innings sounds about perfect for where he should be this year. That's negligible June innings, and 15 a piece July, August, and September. That sounds about right if they plan on using him as the 5th right hander long reliever in the bullpen.

Marlins’ Alejandro is no Lady Gaga fan
Call him Alex Sanabia, even though his birth name is Alejandro.

Sanabia said the Marlins called him up last month just in time. The scoreboard folks at Class AA Jacksonville said the were planning to change his walk-up music to the Lady Gaga song “Alejandro.”

Before he could strut his stuff to Gaga, the Marlins called him up. Sanabia’s walk-up music in Jacksonville was Bob Marley’s Iron Lion Zion. He says he wouldn’t be surprised if he hears Lady Gaga played at Sun Life Stadium in Miami when the Marlins return home July 16.

“I’ll get texts here and there, ‘Oh, your song is on!”’

He needs to miss some bats.

Volstad needs to miss the plane and stay in Washington. Start smoking crack. Run for mayor. Then no longer be a Marlin.

Alex seems to have a bit of Ryan Tucker syndrome going on (except that Alex doesn't have Ryan's bad temper). He tears up the minors but needs to develop his third pitch in order to be a successful starter in the majors.

Tucker could really use a 2nd pitch.
