It's not clear yet where Sandy Gaston will sign, though the #Marlins have scouted him heavily and could be a landing spot

Is there any confirmation that the Marlins are in on him or just hopeful?

Havent heard any teams on him. Looks like Miami is on Gaston so would think they would be on Rodriguez too but both look very good.

Gaston and Rodriguez are the only 2 guys in the Top 10 who are not already committed to a team. Toronto/Cubs/Seattle/LA have some of them already

so would this mean that we are tied for the most amount of money to spend on anyone in the IFA market this year? I dont know shit about the mechanics of how IFA works. Also is there any Luis Robert/Moncada type cant miss prospect and if not is this considered a good IFA class?

Yes and No. Right now we are tied for the most money BUT teams can trade for more cash if they want/need it

Mechanics are easy. U can spend what is in your budget to sign IFA if u have 6 million u can spend 6 million

Good Class with 7 of Top 10 guys already "signed" committed to teams. Both Cuban SP are uncommitted and looks like we like both

I really hope we don't screw this up

                http://conlasbasesllenas.com/sandy-g...ane-interview/

Sandy Gaston nickname is "Baby Hurricane" and in pic is wearing Marlins hat

Con las Bases Llenas: Wow! Awesome. I know you are going to sign with the team that suits you best, but we wanted to know if you have a team of your choice.

                Sandy: Miami Marlins

From some reports not just having issues throwing strikes but getting it near the plate. Supposedly is hitting or near hitting batters and completely missing the catcher in some case. Sounds like control is a major issue for him. If they do sign him I hope it doesn't cost most of the IFA cash.

He is 16 who already has a nice body and throws mid 90's. U can clean up mechanics-it is ALL about getting talent in the system!!! Give him 2.5 million and develop him

its kind of ridiculous that there isnt a universal mlb draft at this point. from a standpoint of league parity, every player should have to declare for the draft at some point and then only then are they allowed to sign with a team if they arent drafted. Its better now that there is a spending limit in IFA, but still has never made much sense to me to not allow a universal draft, although im pretty sure it has to do with the practicality of getting international players in the same draft as US players legally speaking.

Talk is we got Sandy Gaston for between $750K-1 million. If true great price and gives us still 5 million to play with

Gaston is a long term project but 16 yr olds that throw 97 is rare

Awesome to hear. Keep investing in the system and dont stop when the cycle ends up coming through the system and reaches the majors.
