Anyone know what Aramis is asking for? I'm kind of scared of getting him, but at the same time intrigued. I also like Fielder on a 4-5 year contract, but there's no need to get a 1B, that still leaves a hole at 3B.
Why would you want Ramirez over Reyes, other than price?
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

In case Reyes falls through, that's all. I want Reyes and he wants us. I'm sure he will be a Marlin in '12, I am just saying I don't mind Ramirez in the scenario that we lose Reyes.

Weaver got 85/5 from LAA and he gave them a discount (huge discount if you ask me), and CJ is asking for $100 mil with a discount? That's just too funny. Good luck CJ.
        Weaver wasn't a free agent.

Saying that, Weaver is getting $16-16-$18-$20 in his free agency years, which is a bargain even considering the arbitration card. I think the Angels probably saved $3 million a season on these years from what Weaver could have realistically asked for and received given his service time. Overall, we're talking $10-15 million over 5 years and did not have to guarantee a 6th year (which I think is a bigger deal than the annual savings). So yea, Angels saved some bucks and backend. It's a great pro-club deal, but not comparable to a purely free agent CJ.

CJ is more comparable to Lackey and Burnett (each 5/$82). I don't blame CJ for shooting for the moon with $100-120 over 5-6, but at the end of the day no one is going to do that and 5/$85 is a realistic ballpark of where he should land. Weaver simply had arbitration, and gave up a little which was his decision. He is not a market setter for CJ.

I wouldn't doubt that CJ Wilson gets $100 million from some team.

He's a free agent, and the market for SP is terrible; he's the best one out there.

Teams like the Nationals who are dying to make a splash it seems and have a recent history of overpaying/have a need for starting pitching...I could see a team like that making such a move.

I kinda hope they see what Houston wants for Wandy. His salary for 2 years is very nice and low risk.

Houston will probably ask for a lot for Wandy. Not sure if I'd be comfortable with the FO meeting what their price will likely be.

His option becomes a player option, i.e. guaranteed, if he is traded, so it's really a 3/$36 contract if that changes your opinion.

I don't like what it would take for Wandy. No thanks. He's a number three to me.
