                  • Chewford, you get another former big leaguer to watch in Horacio Ramirez. He signed with the Kia Tigers.

                    • Theo to Cubs compensation is finally resolved.

@CSNMooney: Chris Carpenter and a player to be named later going to Red Sox as compensation for Theo and another player.

                      • Another Chris Carpenter? Geez.

Upon further review on baseball reference, there have only been three (including Cris, who pitched for us) and all have played from the 90s til now. Oops.

                        • It's funny how both teams are sending a PTBNL in this, too. It's been months to get this far and it's still not over over.

                          • Kelvin De La Cruz, who was designated for assignment last week, was traded from Cleveland to Texas today for cash considerations.

Rangers acquired LHP Kelvin De La Cruz from the Indians for cash considerations.
De La Cruz was designated for assignment by the Tribe in mid-February to clear a 40-man roster spot for first baseman Casey Kotchman. The 23-year-old left-hander posted a decent 4.19 ERA and 95/57 K/BB ratio across 86 innings last season with Double-A Akron.

                              • Buster Olney watched Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder take batting practice. They sound like they’re having a lot of fun:

When Cabrera took his turns in the box, he carved long liners to right field, over and over, shouting to the others to guess whether they would clear the fence.

“SI OR NO?” Cabrera yelled. “SI OR NO? SI OR NO?”

When the ball would land on the other side of the chain-link fence, Cabrera punctuated the drive this way: “SI, Motherfucker.”

If that isn’t on a t-shirt with Detroit Tigers colors being sold by a Tigers blogger by the end of the day the Internet has failed.
