He didn’t fit in to long term plan and was traded accordingly. Traded at lowest value is a big nothing BURGER.

Jake Eder is out of baseball by the way. Feel bad for that kid he was so promising.
correct, now do how many at bats jake burger had in 2022. And what team he was on in 2022. They traded burger at his lowest value during his tenure here. His wrc+ was the lowest in his career last year. They did the same for Arraez, Jazz, and Luzardo, and very possibly sandy soon. And Bride. And in the year and a half he was here, Puk was traded at probably his lowest value as well. A lot of those guys were minor pieces, but out of the major pieces they dealt, they traded all of them at their absolute lowest value outside of Tanner scott, who they had no choice of trading at the deadline last year. But luzardo was the biggest missed opportunity. His value just 6 starts into this year is significantly higher than it was when we traded him less than 5 months ago. And his value before last year was significantly higher than it was when they traded him. Cant really blame the FO though, when you have the opportunity to get a 19 year old in A ball who had 10 extra base hits in 340 PA's and wont help the major league team for 3 full years at least, you have to take it and run.

They actually got a good return for Rogers and they werent here at the peak of his value, but he was traded at about his lowest value as well.

sanchez would seem to be the pretty easy call there. Closer to free agency, decent enough, but never quite put it together, completely useless against lefties.

i'm not watching closely enough, but matt mervis is apparently a terrible defender at 1b? Fangraphs has him being really really bad.

i will give credit to the current regime, the hitters that are coming up are having significantly more success than the last 7 years. Whether that's because of more talent or better adjustments, i'm used to young guys coming up and being lucky to scrape the .600 OPS mark, and we have multiple guys in the high 700s and low 800s. And many are showing legitimate improvement from previous years, specifically stowers and mervis.

Sucks that conine got injured, was looking forward to what his numbers would look like over a large sample.

At this point, the every day lineup needs to include Ramirez (until fortes comes back at least), mervis, Edwards, Stowers, Sanoja, otto lopez, and norby.
    I'd do this:

    Vs. RHP

    1. Edwards SS
    2. Sanoja CF
    3. Sanchez RF
    4. Mervis 1B
    5. Norby 3B
    6. Stowers LF
    7. Ramirez DH
    8. Lopez 2B
    9. Hicks C

    Vs. LHP

    1. Edwards SS
    2. Sanoja CF
    3. Myers RF
    4. Norby 3B
    5. Wagaman 1B
    6. Ramirez C
    7. Stowers LF
    8. Lopez 2B
    9. Ronny Simon DH

Ronny Simon btw, I was unfamiliar with him, but he's actually kinda interesting. Signed as a minor league free agent, was with Tampa previously. Only 25 years old, over 600 ABs in AAA, and an OPS right around .800. Switch-hitter has played primarily at 2B, but a lot of time at SS, 3B, and LF as well. Could be an ideal utility guy down the line.

bendix is trying to rebuild the entire team while simultaneously trading every piece other than tanner scott at their lowest value. Jazz, Arraez, Luzardo, Burger, Bride, Bell, Rogers all traded at the bottom of their value, though a few of those guys never really had much value.

If Sandy doesnt pick it up soon, he will be the next one.

DLC was sent down to AAA by the Braves. In the 60 games he's been gone, he's been the least valuable player in baseball at -1.6 WAR.

I mean, that's not really true. He's a light hitter even as far as light hitters go, he doesn't even maximize what little power he has, and his BABIP is 50 points higher than what he put up in the minors.

I like him, but he does have some red flags.
