incredibly positive start thus far for Mervis, Conine, and Stowers. 3 power lefty bats. I said it in the spring and ill say it again, the cubs trading mervis for Brujan of all guys makes 0 sense. He wont keep up quite this pace obviously as the K's will catch up to him eventually and teams will start pitching him differently, but ill never understand giving up on a top prospect after just 116 ab's spread over 2 years, unless you are really getting something of value back, which they didnt.

I'm not watching close enough to see how they are doing defensively, but mervis and Conine are grading very poorly defensively. Stowers is grading out pretty well. Edwards is not a SS but i dont really care right now if he's making the routine plays and not making a fool of himself. The bat is just too good to care when there is no one behind him.

Right now they have 6 different starters with a WRC+ of 114 or higher. Interested to see how Norby, Sanchez, and hopefully Ramirez soon look. Bride, Pauley, and Wagaman either arent starters or arent ready.

I'm not saying he's done. He's only 24. Unlucky or not, he hasn't hit since 2023. Get him to AAA and see if he can find something with the bat. Pauley was a stud at the lower levels of the minors. Show me something at AAA before getting significant playing time at the big leagues.

Replacing Bride, Wagaman and Pauley with Norby, Sanchez and Ramirez would do wonders.

I've done a 180 on Stowers. I thought he was a scrub, but now he looks like a completely different player.

I’d say fans are welcome all places! And Each forum has its own personality

I was just pointing out that you were investing some time in the Marlins (just not at this forum).

Marlinsbaseball.com will outlast this place after fish16 drove lou, Lee etc away with all his teeth clenching, foaming at the mouth stuff.

It’s unfortunate. I’ve been posting with lou, MK7, Nick, Todd and others since I joined MB.com 20 years ago (literally).
Yup that’s fair, and I have been following more than I intended, but I’m sure as the season goes on and as the team (likely) performs worse, I’ll drift off at least as far as following consistently. At the end of the day I’m still a fan and it’s hard to completely disconnect, though obviously interest is nowhere near what it used to be (must watch tv for all games, etc). And also part of not posting here vs there is if I come in here and see nobody has posted in a couple days, I’m not inclined to post anything either…I guess a sort of self fulfilling cycle if you will.

With the Lou posts for example, most of the time I just took the approach of - that’s a pie in the sky wish list but if he wants to take time to post a novel, go for it, vs the call out every post for being a novel .

it is unfortunate that folks have been driven away for multiple reasons.

ah yes, teeth clenching and foaming at the mouth stuff. aka, disagreeing with what they are saying and discussing it and not being a pathetic cheerleader for a team that has consistently betrayed the fanbase. ever think that maybe, just maybe, people dont want to invest time and energy into supporting a shit product that doesnt try to become a better product. lou said for numerous years that he would stop supporting the team if they didnt sign anyone in the offseason. Whether it was the correa year, or adames this past year. it was never going to happen. perhaps he got tired of waiting for something that very clearly will never come.
