  • Heading to Marlins Park for First Time

    Hey all!

I’m heading to the ball park tomorrow for the first time. Any advice from folks who regularly go to games? I’m looking to snag some decent seats off of StubHub or Seat Geek. Any recommendations for the best place to sit and favorite places for food and beer? We’re staying in Wynwood and will likely take an Uber down there since it’s so close or potentially drive and park but that sounds like more of a hassle than it’s worth. Also, would love to meet up and say hi if anyone is at the game as well. I haven’t been active on the message board much the last year or two but have always enjoyed chatting over the years.

    What’s up, BP!

The best cheap ticket: $10 for the Standing Room Only tickets in CF. The first row of that section is a nice place to watch a game.

Best seats if you’re ok spending $30-$35, Sec 5 (the lettered rows).

Enjoy the park. It’s much improved from years past. The netting sucks but that’s MLB not the Marlins.

My favorite new food item: the steak sandwich at Novacento.

      1. Park at the houses. It's cheaper and less traffic (I just saw that you're ubering there)

      2. You can bring your own water and food/snacks/sweets.

      3. From the homeplate entrance, turn right, see a budwaiser stand next to the Obbie's/305 entrance. Sign in to get a free soda (they give you a small cup but I always refill it and no one ever said anything)

      4. You can pretty much seat anywhere you like. I have cheap seats and if I want I always seat in better seats.

      5. Look out for the "homerun plates" right behind Budweiser bar. It marks the locations of where our longest HR were hit. It's pretty cool.

      6. I never eat at the ballpark because it's kinda expensive. If I get anything I'll get the $3 hotdog at the 305 location

With the new concessions, I'd say to circle the park and check out all the food options before deciding. There seems to be quite a few good options.

Went to a game on saturday and was impressed with the alterations to the stadium. The auto nation alley thing really does a nice job of making the park feel a little more intimate rather than how cavernous it felt especially in LF before. Next they really just need to get rid of the seats in the upper right field deck and make it a restaurant/bar area/ standing room only.

Yes. There is no need for 37 k seats in a Miami baseball stadium. Take out the upper deck right field seats, I’d guess that reduces capacity to somewhere around 30k which is still more than enough, and put some sort of restaurant or bar type thing. Especially given the complete lack of options around the ballpark. Use the braves right field area as a model

On a related note, when I was at the park, I noticed they didn't update the concessions in the third deck at all (yet, presumably). And I do believe Chip Bowers months ago said that they'd have other improvements coming after this season, so maybe they have bigger plans in store too for this offseason up there.
