Is there a season thread? Game thread is where this shifts now?
I just came here to see the outrage of Berti batting 9th
no outrage. Id probably hit him 1st with arraez 2nd and shift segura back to 5th, but im fine with this. We get the same thing as the game goes on with berti setting the table for Arraez and Segura so it works out, plus segura is flatly a better hitter anyways so no issues with it.
i cant think of something i would want to read less than that book. Does he do a full chapter on running a small market team that refuses to invest in IFA, the draft, and minor league development and then blaming the manager for the lack of success?
How the heck does Garrett go from having an excellent season last year, 88 innings 3.58 ERA, to getting optioned 4 days into the season? I know he had some struggles in Spring Training and his 1 mop-up outing was mediocre, but amazing how we fuck things up so quickly.

Are we posting this here? Unified game thread/all things thread? Or are these separate?
I have been trying to figure that out, but it's innings. Garrett just pitched 2 days ago 3 innings and they want some innings for Cueto sucking. Lindgren is just innings.I think Garrett will make one start in AAA and be back in the minimum 10.
Oh and yes, why isn't there a better 40 man option than this to start the year. Enright, Sixto, Meyer, Bender, and Nance are hurt which I get (practically that might be a good MLB pen in itself next year???), but there has gotta be some further depth building here.
i think garrett is more than a thing where they send him down because he just pitched a lot yesterday or the day before. He has been straight up terrible all of spring and then the first series. I think a few starts will be good for him to work on some things against lesser talent.
There is zero excuse not to have better options. We're not breaking any new ground here, but ive been saying it for weeks and we all know it, they needed 1-2 more relief options. and like the lineup, they just cheaped out yet again and it will cost them games.
when does the 60 days start for Enright? As of the beginning of spring when they knew he would be out or from opening day or the few days before opening day? He seemed like he was only a little behind. regardless, the most important thing is that dudes health so hopefully it's not set back with his lymphoma and just more of a thing to give him time to get into shape.
also, the fact that none of the guys on the 40 man out of the bullpen were the ones called up (Soriano, simpson, Reynolds) says a lot about their performances in spring. Kind of infuriating that they let neidert go if the first call up was going to be lindgren, who has been solid on the minor league level but im guessing doesnt have the stuff to compete at this level.
on a positive note, brazoban has given some good innings in the first series. He needs to cut down the walks but he has shown he can be an ok middle reliever.

Miami is not a small market. according to the 2020 census, there are over 7.7 million people in the SMSA of Miami-Dade-Broward-Palm Beach counties. People down here just have common sense, they won't spend $$$ on a turd team run by a delusional GM, and a cheap ass owner. They work hard for their money and wish to be entertained - that is the antithesis of what the Marlins represent.
Arraez’ s BABIP is 305 points higher than Segura’s
im not worried about segura. Very small sample and as you've said, super low BABIP. it will even out for him. He's hit the ball hard a lot, just gotten bad luck.
