I can't fault that logic since the draft is such a crap shoot anyway.

Last year we got a guy who was asking for big money, had Scott Boras as his agent, and still managed to pick up 2 highly touted high schoolers and a big time college bat who fell in the 1st round all in the 1st 5 rounds.

Why is Lacy a huge get? Take a look at premium LH starting pitchers in the NL East. Corbin in Washington and Max Fried in Atlanta. That's it.Last edited by Lee Stone; 06-12-2020, 08:35 PM.

Because if he hadnt had TJS he would have been in the 10-20 Range and even with it was the Best LH HS P. Let him recover and June 2021 he is ready to go in GCL or even SS(if they have 1)-take a chance its not like we dont have pitching if he doesn't work out BUT if he does u got a #2/3 SP. Washington did this Giolito and has happened plenty over the years

P.S. I know you and I were huge Lacy advocates (having watched him). I'm kind of speechless still.
Jacksonville
C-Fortes
1B-Alonso
2B-Mahan
SS-Brigman/Sims
3B-Dunand
LF-Jerar/Garrett
CF-VV
RF-Bleday
Jupiter
C-Banfield
1B-Edwards
2B-Torres
SS-Devers
3B-Ready/Rivera
LF-Burdick/Pompey
CF-Scott
RF-Misner/Thomas Jones
Clinton
C-Barstad/Skelton
1B-Reynolds/Infante
2B-Dalvy
SS-Nunez
3B-Osiris
LF-Mesa JR/Bradshaw
CF-JD Orr/Milton Smith
RF-Johnston/Hampton
Not counting about 30 others in DSL/backups who could be put on ANY of these teams. These kids have to play in order to get better-are they all Top 30 prospect NO but lots of solid guys who could become something. They could use C/3B in the system but rest is good depth wise
Be interesting to see what they do with minors and prospects next year. Still think its gonna look like this for 2021
AAA-Wichita or Charlotte
AA-Jax
Hi A-Jupiter
SS-Some team in NC/SC/GA/MS
Rookie-GCL
Rookie-DSL
Which means even more of a bat crunch as NO Low A team and the SS not starting till JuneLast edited by tjfla; 06-13-2020, 06:35 AM.

Draft question. In the 4th round Marlins took Jake Eder over Vandy teammate Mason Hickman, who lasted well into the 5th. Here's the Vandy stat sheet from the abbreviated 2020 season. By the numbers, Hickman was vastly better ... even better than Jack Leiter and Kummar Rocker. https://vucommodores.com/wp-content/...ts-3.11.20.pdf
add on: In researching this, Hickman was regarded as a marginal prospect based on lack of velocity alone.Last edited by Lee Stone; 06-13-2020, 09:50 AM.
