  • Fulton. Gonna cost money. But With Meyer. Works.

    • Don't know much about Fulton, but from those quick highlights he looks like High School Lacy.

          • Pick 61 coming up. I wonder if they go for a bat after taking Max and Dax.

            • Mets took Ginn. That’s a good one for them.

              • Kyle Nicolas RHP out of Ball State. All pitchers all the time.

                • Seems like we’re into high upside arms. Nicolas another guy who can touch triple digits apparently.

With that said, it seems like Nicolas has control issues.

                  • OK, so maybe they go with a bat at 75. I'm hoping Casey Martin or Blaze Jordan make it there.

Serious control issues, but it does seem like he had much better control in a very small sample size this spring. His final collegiate start he pitched 7 scoreless innings against Sacred Heart 1 hit 1 BB 17 Ks.

                      • Do you think they are collecting so many arms to then be able to trade for some hitting talent ? Because we all know you can't win if you don't score, and our offense was the reason we had no chance last year -- I believe it was 22 shutouts, i in every 8 games we had no chance to win.

I think it's mainly because they added a bunch of bats last year in the draft (Bleday, Misner, Burdick, Nunez) and in trades (Sanchez and Jazz). Also, this year was known as a strong pitching draft. I would still like them to add some bats coming up though.

You could definitely see it coming. Our arms at AAA and AA are great, but below that it's pretty slim pickings as far as legit pitching prospects go. Pretty much all you've got is some guys with potential, but are too old for A-Ball (Mejia and Roberson) and then teenagers like Fitterer and Mokma who haven't had a chance to really show anything yet.

                            • After going under slot to spend later, the Orioles have now gone all college players through three rounds. You have to wonder if they could have a do over, if they'd have taken Martin at 2.

                              • Marlins pick RHP Zach McCambley from Coastal Carolina with the 75th pick.
