4 for his last 10. He's making contact and not striking out much, so hopefully this is a sign he's starting to get his timing back after not playing for a long time and then missing spring training.

Good to see Garrett back pitching and Nelson healthy. You'd think all 3 could be moved up to Jacksonville fairly quickly if they have a good month or two in Jupiter.

Big issue with pitching is no spots really "open". Roberson/Vallimont and about 4 RP in Clinton should be up in Jupiter while Holloway/Garrett/Stewart and all the RP should be in AA. I will say 1 thing-they seemed to have finally given guys roles instead of just doing whatever

VVM has to get the ball in the air. He’s hitting the ball on the ground like 70% of the time and hitting fly balls like 5% of the time. Small sample size but something to keep an eye on.

He did hit 2 line drives yesterday...at least according to the MILB app.

                      State of the Onion Address

It's the theme of the Marlins. From Jeter to Hill to the team broadcasters, it's all about acquiring and developing layers of talent that will make the Marlins a competitive organization year in and year out. Layers. Like an onion. Problem is, when I chop into our veggie, there's nothing Walla Walla sweet to be found.

First base ... the power position. While veterans "temporarily" hold down first in Miami, we sample the layers within the organization. AAA Matt Snyder (.150), AA John Silviano (.080), A+ Pompey (.125) Alonso (.160), A Reynolds (.043)

Wait, I intended to go around the entire diamond, but I just can't do it. Like the Marlins, I can't get past first base. It's impossible to chop into this onion without shedding some tears.
