Thank God for OT. I was shocked to notice that yesterday was the first time GS went over 100 points this season.

I was like 6 points away from covering before OT, which was pretty frustrating because that arena turned into brick city for a stretch there where no one could make a layup or hit a free throw. That last play Golden State ran in regulation was like Gods way of evening out my luck and helping me cover, while simultaneously making me laugh.

Melo is out so I think that OKC game is going to be a blood bath. I haven't looked it up but I would expect that Boston's record in back-to-backs are dreadful so IND might be a good play.

I'm watching much more NBA than I usually would for whatever reason, but I'm not good with the ins-and-outs yet. No opinion on NYK, although MHs reason is good enough for me. Love the Indy play though. Creaky knees on back to backs can't be good.

Here's why I like the NYK play: OKC's average differential is 4 (not a lot for a "super" team). OKC allows opponents 95.9 P/G; NYK is scoring 94.2/G. I was more attracted to the points than anything else. Probably just a stay away though.

I'd guesstimate that 5% of all sports bettors can profit long term in NBA/NFL

But those 5% usually make big money and did so buy building a model and or being relative value bettors with extremely high volume.

College hoops and MLB are not nearly as efficient markets due to the large amounts of games.

We think Wheelz is doing what I did 7 years ago; making some "rookie"/negative expected value wagers but also has an open mind and is interested in the idea of learning more about the market/bank roll management etc.

When Wheelzy reached out to me in a PM I pointed him in the direction of a book by Stanford Wong called, "Sharp Sports Betting". If anyone is interested it's a great start. He keeps the language simple and informative.

"Weighing The Odds In Sports Betting" by King Yao is also an excellent read.
