Yeah, I didn't want to go that early but there was a run on QBs and I didn't want to risk it. Really like my WRs though and I figured I could wait out these guys and get Felix/Tolbert/Jackson later on and it worked out. I also like getting Snelling purely for chances of a Turner injury.
Dim, 6 team league?
10 team league. Roddy White, Greg Jennings, and Calvin Johnson all went ahead of Johnson/Fitzgerald.
EDIT: Picked Peterson #1, Johnson #20, Fitzgerald #21

1. Adrian Peterson
2. Arian Foster
3. Roll the dice with Johnson or go Charles?
MiamiHomer
08-29-2011, 12:12 PM
Right now I think Rice over Charles. McGahee gone means Rice gets goal line carries and good receiver out of the back field. Johnson's hold out is scaring me.
MiamiHomer
08-30-2011, 09:29 PM
Draft just finished. Dude with the 2nd pick went Rice over Foster so I nabbed him. Here's my team:
QB- Matt Schaub
RB- Arian Foster
RB- Fred Jackson
WR- Hakeem Nicks
WR- Mike Wallace
WR- Steve Smith (CAR)
TE- Jermichael Finley
K- Dan Carpenter
DST- Giants
Reserves:
Josh Freeman
Ben Tate
Malcom Floyd
Mike Tolbert
Jacoby Ford
The draft froze on me and it took forever to get back in the room so Jackson and Smith were auto'd to me, I guess it could have been worse.
Bobbob1313
08-30-2011, 09:34 PM
Fucking yahoo draft room wouldn't open for me on my work PC, so I'm being autodrafted right now. In an 18 team league. I'm definitely gonna have guys I've never heard of.
MiamiHomer
08-30-2011, 09:36 PM
Is it a big money league because that would suck. I started to panic when mine froze because I didn't leave any guys in my quire and my browser froze on top of it.
Bobbob1313
08-30-2011, 09:40 PM
180 for the winner. It's not my biggest league.
MiamiHomer

Mine has the winner getting 450 dollars so I was a bit hectic.
Bobbob1313
08-30-2011, 09:46 PM
The other one is a 12 team league with $100 buy in, so I'd be much more worried. Winner gets $600, points champ gets $300.
Bobbob1313
08-31-2011, 02:30 AM
Pretty happy with my autodrafted team.
18 team league.
1 point per all purpose yard (excluding returns)
4 points per catch
28 points per TD
Sam Bradford
Calvin Johnson
Kenny Britt
Rashard Mendenhall
Shon Greene
Beanie Wells
Jermichael Finley
Neil Rackers
New Orleans DST
Delone Carter
Marion Barber
Greg Little
Kevin Boss
Bench is super weak, which is to be expected, but I'm making a few waiver moves that I hope will help, and I like Carter as a sleeper.
Still, got two different number team's 1 WRs, and 3 RBs that should at least split carries or be the primary back, and two pretty good TEs. Just gotta hope Bradford is pretty good, because QBs are really important in this league. 15 QBs went in the first 3 rounds.

Arian Foster...torn hamstring...
MiamiHomer
08-31-2011, 12:33 PM
Let me guess, you were watching ESPN interview their doctor after seeing Foster's MRI he tweeted out? Grade 1 strain isn't too bad, as someone who owns him in a league I wouldn't mind seeing him sit week 1 or even 2. I have Tate as a handcuff anyways.
--------------------
I've already had one guy offer me Hillis for Foster telling me he's out for 4 weeks :lol
DropkickAlex
08-31-2011, 12:46 PM
Yeah MH I just turned on the tele after getting home from a job fair. Hillis is a nice player to get though if he's open to trading him.
MiamiHomer
08-31-2011, 12:49 PM
Hillis isn't going to be what he was last year. I'd rather wait out however long Foster sits, if he does sit any, than move him for Hillis who has his share of issues. I have Tolbert and Tate to hold me over for the time being. I think people are panicking a bit too much on Foster.
Mainge

DropkickAlex

I wouldn't trade Foster for Hillis. I'm saying if he was open to trading Hillis I'd be interested. I like stacking my RBs
MiamiHomer
08-31-2011, 12:59 PM
It's a 3 WR league so I'm more focused on making sure I have good depth there to separate myself. RBs pop up through out the season every year.
DropkickAlex

Mario Manningham is another that I think is going to be nice with Steve Smith out of NY. I've taken Nicks in 2 of my leagues because that dude catches almost anything thrown his way but once Nicks is off the board I always look for Manningham but some guys in my league had already been big on him.

I got an auction draft tomorrow.
Anyone know where I can get some decent player projections? Then, I can start messing around with a spreadsheet from there.
Alternatively, if you know of any auction cheat sheets, those would be helpful as well.

They usually do quality rankings, I haven't tried it but they have downloadable spread sheets that you could work off of.

I'm managing 5 money leagues. Way too many but I have a problem saying No. A total of $835 in ante money. I hope I can win at least one of them and hopefully if I do win only one it's not the SFM league. Next year I am going to try and cut my leagues down to 3.
CrimsonCane

I'm just in the one league. I'm normally not a fan of fantasy football but I was dragged out of retirement because I'm interested in seeing if I can use some of the same principles I use in fantasy baseball drafting to get a competitive edge in building my team.
Regrettably, my models are having a hard time dealing with the fact that there's no benefit to having money left over when the auction draft is over. I know that there are ways of getting it to do these things, but my math skills are no where near where they were back when I was in college.
Next year if I'm in Fla, I want to do a mighty money league if any of yawls are down. A. Festa hosted live draft with high stakes. /wants this, prolly won't happen

I'd let Omar & Festus host the event since they kinda run Miami :lol also our :: CENSORED :: winter meetings idea could be in play as well, maybe find a spot to have a big board draft war room and all the fixins.
The past few years I've been in a pretty legit one where the end pot has topped a grand, we did a live draft and pay for transactions. The heat on that league was a rush that you can't get unless you're paying in corn for a Korean hover job.

Sick. I haven't won a money league since like 2002 :lol It was for about $400, won a couple freebees here and there but it's been tough. I seem to just enjoy the live draft and having a legit reason to care. Even if CC gon win.

We use a funky scoring system in this 10-team league:
Every all purpose yard is 1 point (except KOs)
TDs by DST, RB, WR, and TEs are worth 56 pts
TDs by QBs are 28 points
Receptions by WR and RB are 5 pts
receptions by TE are 10 pts
my team is:
QB Manning, Eli
RB Peterson, Adrian
RB Jackson, Steven
WR Austin, Miles
WR Fitzgerald, Larry
TE Clark, Dallas
RB-WR-TE Harvin, Percy
K- Laurence Tynes
DST Dolphins
RES Benson, Cedric
RES Woodhead, Danny
RES Crabtree, Michael
RES Tomlinson, LaDainian
RES Miller, Zach
RES Bush, Michael
RES Rice, Sidney

I wonder if perhaps, Wes Welker's fantasy value will begin to wane in non-PPR leagues. It really seemed like Gronk and Hernandez are getting all of what used to be his targets in the middle of the field. Now obviously, he was a fantasy stud last night, but the majority of his points came from both his TDs. The 99 yard bullshit is never happening again, and he's never been a high volume TD guy.
If you own him in non-PPR leagues, the situation is worth monitoring over the next few weeks and if you get plus value in return, think about it. You're welcome.
So he's now a lock for 1500/12.
MiamiHomer
09-13-2011, 09:24 AM
Brady still targeted him a ton in the middle of the field yesterday. Just the fact that his TEs kept getting free releases at the line made it easier to get them the ball in the middle.
--------------------
Brady targeted him 12 times last night. I'd have to watch the game again but I think two were redzone targets with 1 of them being the 2 or 1 yard TD catch.
--------------------
I think he racks up enough yards on his catches to still be good value in standard leagues. Maybe the TD total takes a hit though.
Mainge
09-13-2011, 09:28 AM
I counted 10 targets. That's not enough. I just looked through his game log last year and he went through a rough stretch of shitty.

09-13-2011, 09:35 AM
I don't remember that many but whatevs. I'm just saying there's a reason he took a dive last year. Those TE's are insanely athletic and killer weapons. There are only handful of guys in the league who can cover them.
MiamiHomer
09-13-2011, 09:41 AM
I think Moss gone an coming back from a torn ACL had something to do with it last year. Brady still seems to have a lot of faith in Welker to be his go to receiver but I guess we'll see.

This is what makes them so god damned difficult to defend when they go no huddle. They can just leave Hernandez and Woodhead on the field all times and switch seamlessly between every package they have in their playbook, and it just exhausts or confuses the defense, or both as the Dolphins showed on Monday. They were totally unprepared for that.
I think WR Greg Salas is gonna be a sneaky pickup now that he's in the slot for the Rams

He doesn't get a consistent amount of targets to be a really good #2 WR. With Jennings, Finley and now James Jones I'd feel better about Julio Jones for the rest of the season. Julio has been targeted 42 times this year already, his recent hamstring injury that will keep him out this week hurts him though. I really just see Nelson as a better version of what Devery Henderson does in the Saints offense.

Finley was on the field this past week for 50 snaps, James Jones was in on 26 and Nelson on 30. Finley splits out wide a lot as well. I think Nelson is a good player but I don't think he'll be as consistent as Julio Jones being the definite #2 guy in Atlanta from a fantasy standpoint.
Mainge
10-12-2011, 06:04 PM
Most likely not. But I think it's closer than you think it is. Atlanta definitely won't have this many attempts throughout the year. Where did you hear that?
Oakland coach Hue Jackson said RB Darren McFadden has made progress from a sprained right foot, but he could be held out against Denver in Week 9 because of the Raiders' quick turnaround the following week. McFadden has not practiced this week and left the team's facility Wednesday on crutches and with his foot in a walking boot. "I really think if a guy is close, but he's not totally where he needs to be, then I will take that into consideration," Jackson told the San Francisco Chronicle. "Because, obviously, we play again quickly the following week. But what I want to do is take the healthiest football team I can into this next game."
(Updated 11/03/2011).
Fantasy Analysis
Oakland has just four days following Sunday's game to prepare for its Week 10 matchup against San Diego on a Thursday. The Raiders are certainly being cautious with McFadden, who suffered the injury during the team's first offensive series against Kansas City in Week 7. McFadden has rushed for 614 yards and four touchdowns on 113 carries this season, but appears unlikely to play Sunday. Keep an eye on his status throughout the week, but Fantasy owners should have healthier replacements in mind, including McFadden's teammate Michael Bush.
This will be what I do, btw.
The two weeks thing is just my assumption.
Mainge
11-03-2011, 01:47 PM
That says nothing about week 10. If anything, they'll probably hold him out so he can play on Thursday. Like a mini-bye week.
